The 207th Street subway train yard is owned and operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority MTA . The MTA is the state authority which is responsible for the operations of the the subway system in New York City. This train yard is located in the Inwood neighborhood of northern Manhattan. Often subway train yards occur at the termination of a given subway line in this case the 1 train line. However the 1 train also known as part of the IND line was extended over the Broadway bridge and now terminates in the Bronx at Van Cortland Park. The train yards are large installations where trains are parked, repairs and maintenance is preformed and from where the trains are dispatched. This is one of roughly 20 subway train yards located within the five boroughs of New York City.
