Chieppo Bus Company was a bus operator headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut. It operated one route through Bridgeport, Connecticut, express along Main St. south of Thorme St., passing Trumbull Shopping Park/Mall (yet, it never entered it, which was ironic, forcing one to walk up or down the hill about 150 yards to the shopping complex), then made local stops the rest of its journey through Trumbull, Monroe/Stepney, Newtown, Bethel, into Danbury; this service was infrequent. In Bridgeport, only C R & L lines had a transfer agreement for its passengers; there were several smaller Bridgeport-area bus lines, but they required a separate fare.
When C R & L Lines ceased operations in November 1972, Chieppo's Danbury bus began making local stops entirely within Bridgeport, and gradually exchanged transfers with the city's local bus companies- which had partially taken over some of C R & L's former bus routes.
The company ceased operation of its route by the end of the 1970s.
