For a period of time in the early 1950s, CR & L's Bridgeport bus division had a brighter beige and green scheme on its newest fleet addition. For unknown reasons, the beige whip design portion was removed - becoming a solid green beneath the windows. (Contributor Ted Elliss recalls the latter scheme as dim and unimpressive.)
