King’s Cross St. Pancras is a station of the London Underground (among others the Victoria Line) in the London borough of Camden. it is located under the King’s Cross and St. Pancras rail stations in the Inner city-Tariff zone 1.
This station serves six Underground stations:
- Circle Line,
- Hammersmith & City Line,
- Metropolitan Line,
- Northern Line,
- Piccadilly Line and
- Victoria Line.
History of the Underground Station Edit
On January 10, 1863 it opened as a part of the Metropolitan Railway
The station of the Victoria Line was opened on December 1, 1968.
- Fire of 1987
On November 18, 1987, a wooden escalator, which ran from the platform level to the ticketing area, caught fire, leading to the death of 31 people.
By the end of 2007 the entire Station complex was rebuilt and enlarged.
