Whitehall Street–South Ferry is a station on the BMT Broadway Line of the New York City Subway. It is a three-track, two island platform station. This is the southern terminal for most W trains (except the last 3 trains of the evening), while R trains and the last three W trains continue through the Montague Street Tunnel into the BMT Fourth Avenue Line in Brooklyn. During late nights, when the W does not operate and the R short turns here, the N and R trains serves this station.
The station is across the street from the Staten Island Ferry terminal. In 2007, a transfer to the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue Line's new South Ferry (Template:NYCS Broadway-Seventh South Ferry) terminal station (currently being constructed) will open.
