Stadium-Armory is a Washington Metro station in Washington, DC, on the Blue and Orange Lines. It is a transfer station for the Blue and Orange lines, as this is the last station shared by the two lines before the lines diverge going east. This station will also be the eastern terminus for the planned Silver Line, when service begins in 2011.
The station is located in Southeast Washington, with entrances on 19th Street at C Street and Independence Avenue. The station also serves the D.C. Armory, a popular venue for shows and entertainment, the DC General Hospital, and the DC Jail. It also serves RFK Stadium, the former home of the Washington Redskins, and the current home of the DC United soccer. Service began on July 1, 1977.
